2011: Folded Magic

What fun… This small  3D quilt was completed from start to finish in just a day. The three blocks are comprised of folded pieces of fabric that are stacked on top of each other and then sewn together just at the edges. The technique is described in the book 3D Folded Blocks by Geesje Baron and Ester Vermeer.

Warning: the technique uses a lot of fabric and some of the more detailed block can be up to 16 layers deep in spots and as such take a pretty heavy duty machine the sew the blocks together.
