My crafting and family life journal

Windows on the World

This quilt reflects the unreasonable amount of time that many people are spending watching television instead of pursuing creative endeavors. The block design and repetition of colors in the piece represents the narrow focus that some individuals are developing as a result of exposing themselves to scripted sound bites, mind numbing prime time shows, and video games. I truly applaud household that have chosen not to have televisions or strictly limit the amount of time spent in front of them.

This 60 x 80 inch product was created based on a Colleen Wise design (I have been working my way through her book between other projects), pieced with fabrics that I found in my stash, and a combination of machine and hand quilting were used to finish the quilt.
